To extend membrane lifetime, and improve membrane performance, flush the membrane for 15-30 seconds. Frequency depends on water usage, typically daily or weekly. For saltwater and reef aquarium RO units, flush the membrane for 15-30 seconds before each use, to extend the life of mixed bed de-ionization filters.
